Dear Reader,
I know you are expecting an epic synopsis that sends shivers down your spine or has your mouth watering to know more.
This isn't that kind of story. It isn't a book for everyone. This is about my life. The good, the bad, and the really bad, horribly ugly. I can admit there are parts that will rock you to your core and others will have you struggling to turn the page but in general it's worth the read, if you need it. It's a daily journal I made after I overcame my darkest fears and helped others along the way.
I hope you enjoy the story, at least some of it. I know I did.
Yours truly,
Rose.
"I...I know who you are," Amelia stuttered. "Y...you're the man from across the lake," she stated shakily. "The murderer."
Everyone has two sides and Jacob T Hawkke was no different. Many knew him as a kind-hearted, generous and helpful man. Others saw him as a murderer, an image he tries to escape. The wrongful death of an unarmed civilian will do that. Jacob only wants to be left alone. In his cabin on the hill, he is far away from the residents and far away from the danger.
His past can't come back to haunt him, as long as he stays in his cabin.
Amelia Whitworth has everything any woman could want and nothing to show for it. Her husband left her for another man and now she's all alone. She knows about the man across the lake and despite the warning to stay away, she goes against the grain and for good reason.
A classified top secret device her husband was working on has gone missing. If she doesn't find it in time, her life will be over sooner than she wants.
Hawkke ignores Amelia and for good reason. Its the only way to protect her. But when she finds herself in danger, will Hawkke be the only one who can save her or will he end up killing her by accident.
